Death Confirmed by Inqilab Mancha
Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha, has died while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital.
Inqilab Mancha confirmed his death through a post on Facebook on Thursday night (18 December).
Body to Be Brought Back to Bangladesh
Dr Md Abdul Ahad, resident physician of the Department of Neurosurgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and member secretary of the National Health Alliance, said they have been informed that Osman Hadi’s body will be brought back to Bangladesh tomorrow morning.

Political Reactions and Condolences
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sharif Osman Hadi in a Facebook post. Hadi was also an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming national election.
Earlier, Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan visited Hadi at the hospital and later informed Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus by phone that his condition was extremely critical.
How the Attack Happened
Hadi was shot in the head on Friday (12 December) in the Old Paltan area of the capital. He was travelling in a battery-powered rickshaw for electioneering when attackers on a motorcycle fired at him from behind.
He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors performed emergency brain surgery due to severe injuries.
Medical Condition Described as Critical
Doctors said the bullet entered above Hadi’s left ear and exited through the right side of his head, causing serious damage to the brain stem. His condition was described as extremely critical.
Later, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital Dhaka and airlifted to Singapore on 15 December for advanced treatment.
Investigation and Arrests
Law enforcement agencies identified Faisal Karim Masud as the main shooter. Police and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said his associate, Md Alamgir Sheikh, was riding the motorcycle used in the attack.
Investigation sources said both suspects crossed the border illegally and fled to India.
An attempted murder case was filed with Paltan Police Station on 14 December by Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Mancha.
So far, police and RAB have detained and arrested 14 people in connection with the case, including Faisal’s father Md Humayun Kabir, mother Mosammat Hashi Begum, wife Saheda Parvin Samia, and brother-in-law Wahid Ahmed Sipu.
