Pathao Pay, MTB and Mastercard Launch Stylish Prepaid Card for Bangladeshi Youth

In a move to make digital payments easier and more exciting for young people Pathao Pay has launched a brand-new line of prepaid cards in partnership with Mastercard and Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB).

Announced on Sunday, this fresh initiative is designed especially for Bangladesh’s growing youth segment offering flexible, secure, and real-time payments without needing a traditional bank account.

Whether physical or virtual, these wallet-linked cards work seamlessly with Pathao Pay and support:

  • Online and offline purchases

  • ATM cash withdrawals

  • Tap-and-go (NFC) payments

  • Instant balance updates after each transaction

The cards come in three stylish designs  Starlit Horizon, Purple Haze, and Sunshine Beach  reflecting the creativity and individuality of young users.

Fahim Ahmed, CEO of Pathao, said,

MTB, the official card issuer, also expressed excitement. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, CEO of Mutual Trust Bank, noted,

Mastercard’s Country Manager, Syed Mohammad Kamal, added,

Starting today, some high-usage Pathao Pay users will be given early access to the new cards, with a full rollout expected in the coming months.
