Brutal Rape of A Woman in Muradnagar, Comilla
A young woman (aged approximately 25) has been accused of breaking the door of a village house in Muradnagar, Comilla. A video of the incident went viral on social media on Saturday night, creating widespread anger and discussion across the country. There has been a storm of condemnation on Facebook and other platforms.

Popular actor Saidur Rahman Pavel went live on Facebook on Sunday night to protest against this heinous incident. In a video message of about 13 minutes, he demanded the death penalty for the rapists and expressed deep concern about the deteriorating social situation in the country.
Pavel said,
“যারা ধর্ষণটা করল কুমিল্লা মুরাদনগরে বা যারা ভিডিওটা করল, সেনাবাহিনীর কাছে আমার অনুরোধ বা যারা এখন দায়িত্বে আছেন বা যারা ক্ষমতায় আসার চেষ্টা করছেন, এই নমুনা আপনাদের? সাধারণ ছাত্ররা যারা এত কিছু করল, এই নমুনা দেশের? এই যে পৈশাচিক ঘটনাটা ঘটাইল মুরাদনগর, কুমিল্লায়, এদের সম্মুখে ফাঁসি বা ক্রসফায়ার করা হোক। এদের প্রকাশ্যে নিয়ে আসা হোক সবার সামনে। এদের পরিবারকে নিয়ে আসা হোক সামনে।”
Translation: “Those who committed the rape in Muradnagar, Comilla, or those who made the video, my request to the army, or those who are now in charge or those who are trying to come to power, is this an example for you? Ordinary students who did so much, is this an example for the country? This demonic incident that happened in Muradnagar, Comilla, should be hanged or crossfired in front of them. Let them be brought out in public in front of everyone. Let their families be brought forward.”
Stating that it was a mistake to support the mass uprising, Pavel said,
“স্বৈরাচারের থেকে ধর্ষণকারীরা খারাপ। আমার তো মনে হচ্ছে, এখন বলতে বাধ্য হচ্ছি, এটা তো আরো খারাপ হয়ে গেল। এখন দেশের অবস্থা আরো খারাপ হয়ে গেছে। ভুল করসি। এখন তো মনে হচ্ছে ভুল করসি ভাই।ভুল করসে সবাই।’”
Translation: “Rape-mongers are worse than tyranny. I feel like, I’m forced to say it now, it’s gotten worse. Now the situation in the country has gotten worse. You make a mistake. Now it seems like you make a mistake, brother. Everyone makes a mistake.”
Demanding the killing of rapists, Pavel said,
‘আপনারা ধর্ষকদের মেরে ফেলেন। সম্পত্তির জন্য ভাই ভাইকে মেরে ফেলে, বাবা ছেলেকে মেরে ফেলে। তাহলে যারা ধর্ষক, কাজটা করসে তাদের মা-বাবা যদি বেঁচে থাকে। মা-বাবা ভাই-বোন যদি থাকে, আপনারা কাজটা করেন। যদি আপনাদের সন্তান যারা কাজটা করেছে, ওদেরকে পারলে মেরে ফেলেন।’
Translation: “You kill rapists. Brothers kill brothers for property, fathers kill sons. So if the parents of the rapists who committed the act are alive, then do it. If there are parents, brothers, and sisters, do it. If your children who committed the act, kill them if you can.”
At the end of the live, Pavel said,
‘সবার ঘরেই মা-বোন আছে। যারা কিছু হলেই শাহবাগ চলে যান দাবি নিয়ে। তারা সবাই মিলে আরেকটা জনসমুদ্র হোক। ধর্ষণের বিচার ফাঁসি। এদের মেরে ফেলেন। এ দের মেরে ফেলেন, এটুকুই বলব। ’
Translation: “Everyone has mothers and sisters at home. Those who go to Shahbagh with demands whenever something happens. Let them all come together to form another ocean of people. Rape trials should be hanged. Kill them. Kill them, that’s all I can say.”
At the end of the live broadcast, Pavel said that his mother is currently hospitalized and is scheduled to undergo surgery soon. He asked for everyone’s blessings in this situation.
