The members of the Commission, led by its President, Major General (Retd.) ALM Fazlur Rahman, paid a courtesy visit to General Waker-uz-Zaman.
The Bangladesh Army has been asked to assist the National Independent Investigation Commission in reopening the 2009 Pilkhana massacre investigation. General Waker-uz-Zaman, the Chief of Army Staff, promised the Commission that the Army will fully assist the probe.
General Waker-uz-Zaman had a courtesy call from the Commission’s members, led by its president, Major General (Retd.) A.L.M. Fazlur Rahman, to address crucial issues pertaining to the inquiry. They discussed a number of important topics related to the reinvestigation throughout the meeting. Major General Mohammad Jahangir Kabir Talukder (Retd.), Brigadier General Mohammad Saidur Rahman, Bir Pratik (Retd.), Joint Secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad (Retd.), DIG Dr. M. Akbar Ali (Retd.), Associate Professor Mohammad Shariful Islam from Dhaka University, and Assistant Professor Mohammad Shahnewaz Khan Chandan from Jagannath University were among the other members of the Investigation Commission who attended the meeting.
