Charges Formally Framed by Dhaka Court
On Thursday, July 31, Dhaka’s Special Judge Court-5, led by Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, officially framed charges in three separate corruption cases related to land plot allotments in Purbachal. The accused include former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and daughter Saima Wazed Putul.
Arrest Warrants Issued for Absence in Court
As none of the accused appeared before the court, arrest warrants were issued against them. The judge also fixed August 11 as the date to start witness testimony in the trial.
“Since the accused were absent, the court has issued arrest warrants against them.”

Previous Court Order: Public Notification
Earlier, on July 1, the court ordered a public notice to be published in newspapers, asking all accused in the Rajuk plot cases to appear in court. This step was taken because many of the accused had not responded to court summons.

Background of the Case
In January 2025, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed six separate cases related to alleged irregularities in land plot distribution by Rajuk in the Purbachal area. The ACC claimed that government influence was used to allocate plots unfairly to certain individuals, violating rules and procedures.
