Poem on Sheikh Hasina’s Return Found in Pagla Mosque Donation Box

Poem Discovered in Donation Box

A surprising discovery was made at the historic Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj when one of its donation boxes revealed a small handwritten note along with money and valuables. The note contained a four-line poem about Sheikh Hasina’s return to Bangladesh.

The poem read:

“শেখ হাসিনা আসবে বাংলাদেশ হাসবে, শেখ হাসিনা বীরের বেশে আসবে ফিরে বাংলাদেশে, জয় বাংলা জয় বঙ্গবন্ধু।”

Translation: “Sheikh Hasina will return, and Bangladesh will smile. Sheikh Hasina will come back as a hero to Bangladesh. Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu.”

Huge Collection from Donation Boxes

On Saturday morning (August 30), after being kept sealed for 4 months and 18 days, a total of 14 donation boxes of Pagla Mosque were opened.

Inside, officials discovered:

  • 32 sacks of cash
  • A significant amount of foreign currency
  • Gold ornaments

Currently, the counting process is going on.

Hundreds Participate in Counting

According to mosque authorities, about 500 people are engaged in the counting process. They include:

  • Members of the mosque management committee
  • Teachers and students of the madrasa and orphanage inside the mosque complex
  • Students of nearby Jamia Emdadia Madrasa
  • Officers and employees of Rupali Bank

They are working together to count and record the collected money and valuables.

Previous Record Collection

Earlier, on April 12 this year, the donation boxes were opened after 4 months and 12 days. On that occasion, a record amount of Tk 9 crore 17 lakh 80 thousand 687 was collected, along with a large amount of foreign currency and gold ornaments.
