Screenshots Exposed at the College Gate
On Sunday (14 September) morning, protesting students hung several screenshots at the gate of Naogaon Government College, exposing conversations of Principal Prof. Shamsul Haque.
In these screenshots, the principal was seen asking to see female students without a scarf (or in different attires). The viral images on social media caused outrage among students, parents, and the local community.
Principal’s Messages to a Student
One viral screenshot shows the principal praising the beauty of a student and demanding more photos. The Chats are:
“আরও সুন্দরী ছবি আছে তোমার।”
Translation: “Do you have any more beautiful photos of yourself?”
The student replied:
“আর নেই স্যার। আমি সুন্দর না।”
Translation: “No more, Sir. I’m not beautiful.”
To this, the principal responded:
“আছে আছে, ওড়না ছাড়া।”
Translation: “Yes, yes, you do — without the scarf.”
The student refused politely, but the principal insisted that he had seen her in college and would see again.

Testimony of a Victim Student
One of the victims, a political science student, shared her experience on condition of anonymity.
She said the messages were from two years ago when Shamsul Haque was Principal at BMC Women’s College.
“একদিন আমার সঙ্গে ফেসবুকের বন্ধু তালিকায় যুক্ত হন। এরপর ফেসবুকে কোনো ছবি স্টোরি দিলে অশ্লীল মন্তব্য করতেন। একপর্যায়ে উনি আমার কাছে থেকে ওড়না ছাড়া ছবি চান।”
Translation: “One day he added me on Facebook. Whenever I posted photos or stories, he made indecent comments. At one point, he asked me for pictures without a scarf.”
She blocked him immediately but kept the screenshots as proof.
More Students Speak Out
Another student from the Economics Department of Naogaon Government College alleged that the principal pressured her for private meetings and even threatened to remove her from cultural activities when she refused.
“অধ্যক্ষ সামসুল স্যার প্রায়ই আমার সঙ্গে ব্যক্তিগতভাবে দেখা করার আবদার করতেন… একপর্যায়ে হঠাৎ তিনি আমাকে কলেজের রোভারসহ সব সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ থেকে বের করে দেন।”
Translation: “Principal Shamsul Sir often insisted on meeting me privately… Later, he suddenly removed me from Rover Scouts and all cultural programs.”
She further said that he even threatened to expel her from the college with a Transfer Certificate (TC).
Guardians Express Fear and Anger
Parents are deeply concerned about sending their daughters to college under the same principal.
One guardian, Lipi Begum, said:
“একজন শিক্ষকের মানসিকতা কতটা নোংরা হলে সে এই ধরনের অশ্লীল প্রস্তাব তার ছাত্রীদের দিতে পারে! কলেজ অধ্যক্ষের এসব স্ক্রিনশট ভাইরাল হওয়ার পর মেয়েকে ক্লাসে পাঠানো নিয়ে দুশ্চিন্তায় পড়েছি।”
Translation: “How dirty must a teacher’s mindset be to give such indecent proposals to his students! After these screenshots went viral, I am now worried about sending my daughter to class.”
She demanded immediate removal of the accused principal.
Principal Silent on Allegations
When contacted, Principal Prof. Shamsul Haque did not answer repeated phone calls. Even messages sent to his WhatsApp number introducing the sender as a journalist were left unanswered.
