On Thursday evening, Nahid Islam, the leader of the National Citizen Party (জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টি), went to meet Professor Yunus. He met him at the official guest house called Jamuna, which is also the home of the Chief Adviser during his time in office.
Why Did Nahid Islam Go to Meet Him?
Nahid Islam told BBC Bangla that he went to meet Professor Yunus because of news and rumors that Professor Yunus might resign from his position. From Thursday morning, many people were hearing this news. Nahid Islam said that he wanted to speak to Professor Yunus directly about this matter.
He told BBC Bangla,
“We have been hearing since morning that Sir (Professor Yunus) may resign. So I went to talk to him about this issue and also to discuss the current situation in the country.”

Is Professor Yunus Really Going to Resign?
According to Nahid Islam, Professor Yunus shared some concerns during their meeting. He said that due to the current difficult situation in the country, he is not sure if he will be able to continue working properly as the Chief Adviser. This means he is worried that the problems in the country may stop him from doing his job effectively.
Although there is no official confirmation of his resignation yet, it is clear that Professor Yunus is thinking seriously about the challenges he is facing.
