Prothom Alo has issued an explanation after a discussion on social media regarding an image published on its English online platform. The controversy began on Sunday, 15 March 2026, when users noticed that the URL file location of an image contained an extremely inappropriate word next to the name of a respected individual.
Investigation by the Newspaper
After the issue came to light, Prothom Alo conducted an internal investigation to identify the source of the problem. The newspaper said it was able to identify one employee connected to the incident.

Employee Dismissed
According to the statement, the action violated the professional ethics and journalistic standards of the organization. As a result, the employee involved has been relieved from their job.
Apology from the Organization
Prothom Alo also expressed regret over the incident, saying such unprofessional behavior does not reflect the values of the newsroom. The organization apologized sincerely for the actions of the staff member.
