Additionally, one research paper was published in The Lancet. Altogether, the total share amounted to 1.52.

Dr. Md. Yamin Hossain, professor in the Fisheries Department, expressed pride in this achievement. He said that “Rajshahi University has reached the top academic position among universities in Bangladesh in the Nature Index 2025. This is the highest honor in our university’s history. Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib, the Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University, also shared his thoughts.

He said, “This is the university’s greatest achievement to date. Just this week, we approved over thirteen million taka in additional research projects. For the first time, we have introduced incentives for student researchers. We hope Rajshahi University will continue to maintain its strong position in research.”

When asked about funding for research, he added, “We receive very limited research funding, but despite that, our researchers have done exceptionally well.
