Partha’s Warning on Social Media
Bangladesh Jatiya Party-BJP president, Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha, has urged people not to anger Allah in pursuit of votes. Writing on his verified Facebook page, he stated:
“ভোটের জন্য আল্লাহ কে নারাজ করোনা, পরে আল্লাহ কেও পাবা না আর ভোটও কাজে আসবে না।”
Translation: “Do not anger Allah for votes; later you will lose Allah’s Favor, and the votes will not help either.”

He added:
“প্রত্যেকেই নিজ নিজ ধর্ম স্বাধীনভাবে পালন করবে এটা সুনিশ্চিত করা আমাদের সকলের দায়িত্ব। আল্লাহ আমাদের সকলকে হেদায়েত দান করুক।”
Translation: “It is our responsibility to ensure that everyone can practice their own religion freely. May Allah guide us all.”

Context: Controversy During Durga Puja
The comments come amid ongoing discussions about statements made during Durga Puja visits. Controversial remarks by Jamaat-e-Islami lawyer Advocate Shishir Munir, who allegedly compared Ramadan and Durga Puja, sparked criticism. Partha’s post appears to address such incidents, emphasizing respect for religious freedom while warning against prioritizing votes over faith.
Political Background of Partha
Partha won a parliamentary seat from Bhola in 2008 and later contested Dhaka-17 in 2018 as part of the BNP-led alliance. Although he previously distanced himself from the BNP alliance, he has recently reconnected closely with the party. Rumores suggest that BNP may leave Dhaka-17 open for Partha in the upcoming election.
