Unauthorized Filming Sparks Outrage
Popular content creator Ripon Mia from Netrakona expressed deep sorrow after a few television journalists reportedly entered his house and filmed his family without permission. He shared his emotional response in a Facebook post on Monday (October 13), where he clarified that he never wanted to involve his family in his online content or earnings.
Ripon Mia’s Facebook Statement
Ripon wrote in his Facebook post:
“আমি রিপন মিয়া। আপনাদের ভালোবাসা ও সাপোর্টে আমি ২০১৬ সাল থেকে দীর্ঘ ৯ বছর ধরে এই স্থানে আসতে পেরেছি। এই সময়ে আমার দ্বারা কারও ক্ষতি করার কোনো রেকর্ড নেই। এমনকি যেকোনো কনটেন্ট ক্রিয়েটর আমাকে ডাকলে আমি সব সময় সাড়া দিয়েছি।”
Translation: “I am Ripon Mia. With your love and support, I have been able to reach this stage over the past nine years since 2016. During this time, I have never harmed anyone. I always responded whenever any content creator called me.”
He added that despite gaining popularity, he faced hacking attempts, threats, and pressure to appear on television interviews.
“ফেসবুক, হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ, ইনস্টাগ্রাম—আজই শিখে ফেলুন ৫০ টাকায় ৫০ হাজার মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছে যাওয়ার গোপন কৌশল!”
Journalists Accused of Entering Home Without Consent
Describing the recent incident, Ripon wrote:
“আজ, সোমবার, ঢাকা থেকে কয়েকজন টিভি সাংবাদিক আমার বাড়িতে এসেছিলেন। তারা কারও অনুমতি না নিয়ে আমার পরিবারকে ভিডিও করতে থাকেন এবং দূরে ক্যামেরা রেখে উল্টাপাল্টা প্রশ্ন করেন। এমনকি পরিবারের মহিলা সদস্য ঘরে থাকা সত্ত্বেও তারা অনুমতি না নিয়ে ঘরে ঢুকে যান।”
Translation: “Today, Monday, several TV journalists came to my house from Dhaka. Without any permission, they filmed my family and asked inappropriate questions from a distance. Even though female members were inside, they entered without consent.”
Ripon said that his family members are uneducated and not used to media exposure. He stated that he never wanted to show his family on Facebook for financial gain.

A Message to the Journalists
He chose not to reveal the name of the TV channel but strongly criticized the journalists’ actions:
“এই ঘৃণ্য কাজটি যারা করেছেন, তারা নিজেদের বিবেককে প্রশ্ন করুন। এভাবে টাকা আয় করে নিজের পরিবার ও সন্তানদের খাওয়াতে যদি আপনাদের বিবেক না জাগে, তাহলে আমারও আর কিছুই বলার নেই।”
Translation: “Those who have done this shameful act should question their conscience. If your conscience doesn’t awaken when you feed your family with money earned this way, then I have nothing more to say.”
Ripon concluded by asking everyone to stay well and pray for him, saying he wishes to continue his journey with honesty and dignity.
