A press release from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing states that most clothing manufacturers in Savar, Ashulia, Narayanganj, and Gazipur are operating normally. Out of the 401 factories in the Savar-Ashulia area, as of 8:00 am today, only one is closed in compliance with Rule 13/1, with 99.76 percent of them being in operation. All of the factories in Narayanganj are operating at full potential. There is just one closed factory out of 871 in Gazipur, meaning that 99.89 percent of the factories are operating. Also, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing reported that of the 301 factories in the Dhaka Metropolitan region, one is closed, claiming that 99.67 percent of the firms are in operation. It further stated that, overall, the clothing sector in these areas keeps running smoothly with few closures.
