It is reported that classes at RUET resumed on the same day after nearly one and a half months of vacation. During this period, classroom equipment was not checked or maintained, which may have contributed to the accident. Initial observations suggest the incident may have occurred due to lose or faulty nuts and bolts in the fan. Following the incident, students expressed concern about the safety of classroom facilities and demanded regular inspections of all campus infrastructure to prevent similar accidents in the future.

Department Head Responds to the Incident

Speaking about the issue, the head of the ECE department, Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, said:

Translation: “We regularly monitor all classroom equipment. The fans were installed recently. It is likely that the incident occurred due to a problem with the nuts and bolts. We have already started rechecking all rooms.”

The accident has raised questions about maintenance and safety inspections at RUET, especially after a long academic break. University authorities have begun re-inspecting classroom facilities, while students are urging stricter and more frequent safety checks to avoid future incidents.
