False Rumor of Mauritanian Hajj Plane Crash Sparks Panic Online carrying 210 Hajj pilgrims

Plane Crash carrying 210 Hajj pilgrims

On Tuesday, May 27, a sudden rumor of a plane crash began circulating, claiming that a flight carrying 210 Hajj pilgrims from Mauritania had crashed. The news quickly spread across social media platforms, sparking widespread concern and panic.

However, the airline authorities were quick to respond, confirming that all pilgrims had safely arrived in Saudi Arabia without any incident. According to the rumors, a plane bound for Saudi Arabia from Mauritania, carrying Hajj pilgrims, had supposedly crashed near the coast of the Red Sea. Some early reports even alleged that the aircraft mysteriously lost contact while en route to the holy land for the pilgrimage.

Dismissing these claims, the airline stated, “By the grace of Allah, all Hajj pilgrims have safely and securely reached Saudi Arabia. There has been no report of any accident involving any flight scheduled for the Hajj season.”

The airline further urged the media to verify information before publication and warned against the spread of false news. They also announced that legal action would be taken against those involved in circulating such rumors.

Separately, a report from MASDAR News also confirmed that the news of the supposed crash was completely false and baseless. Official government sources clarified that no aircraft had crashed near the Red Sea coast and that the viral video being shared in connection with the incident was fabricated.

One such video, which spread rapidly online, claimed to be footage from inside the aircraft. It featured terrified passengers screaming and shouting “Allahu Akbar” as the plane was allegedly descending. However, investigations have revealed that the video was fake and unrelated to any Hajj flight.
