BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has stated that if Dr. Yunus wishes to resign, that would be a personal decision. “We (BNP) have never demanded his resignation,” he said. He made these remarks today, Friday, while speaking to reporters.
Salahuddin Ahmed said, “If he wants to step down without announcing an election roadmap, that is also a personal matter. However, if he is indeed unable to carry out his responsibilities, the state will not remain idle. The state will take alternative measures, and the people will choose a replacement.”
He added, “No one in this world is indispensable. However, we hope he will understand the gravity of the situation as a globally respected figure. We want him to announce an election roadmap aiming to hold the national election by December, in line with the people’s expectations.”
