In a disturbing incident, a Turkish user has reported that a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds FE earbuds exploded while in use, causing permanent hearing damage to his girlfriend. The story, shared on Samsung’s Turkish community forum, has quickly spread across international news outlets.
The user, who recently purchased the Galaxy Buds FE to complement his Galaxy S23 Ultra, described how his girlfriend was using the earbuds for the first time when one of them allegedly exploded, resulting in severe hearing loss. The earbuds were brand new and had a 36% charge at the time of the incident.
Following the explosion, the user took the damaged earbuds to a Samsung service center in Cemalpasa, Adana. Despite initial expressions of surprise and apology from the service center staff, Samsung’s subsequent investigation concluded that the earbuds had only “deformed” and not exploded. The company offered to replace the damaged earbuds with a new pair but insisted that the user accept their terms or pursue legal action.
