Addressing BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman, National Citizens’ Party (NCP) northern region organizer Sarjis Alam said, “Just as the murders committed by Awami League fall on Sheikh Hasina, the crimes of BNP, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal also fall on your shoulders.”
He made the statement in a Facebook post on Friday, July 11.
In his post, Sarjis Alam wrote, “The drama of ‘everyone is bad but he is good’ won’t work in Bangladesh anymore. Control the monsters within your party, Mr. Tarique Rahman. If murders by Awami League are blamed on Hasina, the same rule applies to you for killings committed by BNP, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal leaders.”

Referring to the recent killing near Midford Hospital, he added, “A businessman was stripped naked, stoned to death, and his body was surrounded by Jubo Dal activists celebrating wildly. This scene reminds us of the barbarism of the dark ages. This is not why the people of Bangladesh staged the July revolution. Times have changed, Mr. Tarique Rahman. This generation may forgive, but it will not forget.”
