Khagrachhari Region Commander Brigadier General Hasan Mahmud has said that
পাহাড়ে কোন সন্ত্রাসীদের ঠাঁই হবে না। পাহাড়ে শান্তি-শৃঙ্খলা বজায় রাখার পাশাপাশি সম্প্রীতির অটুট রাখতে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। একই সাথে স্থানীয় বসবাসরত সকল জনগোষ্ঠীর শিক্ষা,স্বাস্থ্য থেকে শুরু করে নিরাপত্তায় নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী।
Translation:”No militant or extortionist group will be allowed to remain in the hills. He emphasized that the Bangladesh Army is working tirelessly not only to maintain peace and order but also to preserve harmony among all ethnic communities living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.”
He made these remarks on Saturday (29 November) during an exchange meeting with local residents and a gift-distribution program at Tarabon Chhora under the Panchari Sub-Zone.
The Region Commander stated,
পাহাড় থেকে সন্ত্রাস-চাঁদাবাজ নির্মূল হবে অচিরেই। সন্ত্রাসীদের চাঁদাবাজি ও অস্ত্রের ঝনঝনানি থাকবে না। শান্ত পাহাড়ে অস্থিতিশীল করার স্বপ্ন তাদের আর বাস্তবায়ন হতে দেয়া হবে না। অচিরেই সকল সন্ত্রাসীদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর হস্তে দমন করা হবে।
Translation: “Militants and extortionists will be eliminated soon. Their weapons and threats will not be allowed to destabilize the peaceful hills. Their dream of creating unrest will never be fulfilled.”
He added that the hills belong to everyone both Bengali and indigenous communities and ensuring a peaceful, secure life for all residents is a key priority. He affirmed that strong and decisive action will be taken against any militant group operating in the region.

Brigadier General Hasan Mahmud further noted that the Army has been continuously supporting the education, healthcare, and security needs of all communities in the area. He reassured locals that more appropriate measures will be taken to keep every resident safe.

The meeting was attended by Khagrachhari DGFI GS Colonel Atik, Khagrachhari Zone Commander Lt. Colonel Md Khademul Islam, Logang 3 BGB Commander Lt. Colonel Robiul Islam, Khagrachhari Region Staff Officer Kazi Mostafa Arefin, Panchari Sub-Zone Commander Major Rifat, and other senior officials from the Region, Sadar Zone, Panchari Sub-Zone, and Logang 3 BGB.
Local leaders including Logang UP Chairman Joy Kumar Chakma, Chengi UP Chairman Ananda Joy Chakma, Logang UP member Md Saheb Ali, and local headmen and karbaris were also present.
Community Support Program
As part of the event, the Bangladesh Army distributed educational materials to students, winter blankets to local families, and provided free medical services to more than 300 residents.
Brigadier General Hasan Mahmud’s strong message reflects the Army’s renewed commitment to ensuring long-term peace in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. With community engagement, security operations, and essential services, the Army aims to protect all communities and keep the region stable, peaceful, and united.
