Seven Arrested by RAB
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14) arrested seven people in connection with the killing and attempted burning of a young man in Valuka, Mymensingh. The information was confirmed on Saturday (20 December) morning.
The arrested are:

- Tarek Hossain (19)
- Manik Mia (20)
- Ershad Ali (39)
- Nizum Uddin (20)
- Alamgir Hossain (38)
- Miraj Hossain Akon (46)
Details of the Incident
RAB reported that the arrests followed multiple operations at various locations linked to the murder of Dipu Chandra Dash.
On Thursday night (18 December), Dipu, a worker at Pioneer Knit Composite Factory in Dubalipara area, was beaten to death. Afterward, a furious crowd tried to set his body on fire on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
Case Filed by Victim’s Family
A case was filed on Friday at Valuka Police Station by the victim’s brother. Police mentioned that Dipu Chandra Dash faced allegations of religious defamation, which may have triggered the attack.
