The central committee of Baisommobirodhi Chatro Andolon (Anti-Discrimination Student Movement) has suspended its activities in 7 districts, including Chuadanga. The decision was made because the committees’ terms have ended, and they were no longer valid.
Official Announcement from Central Leaders
The announcement was made in an official statement on Friday night (10 July 2025). The statement was signed by the central president Rifat Rashid and general secretary Hasan Imam.
According to the notice, all activities of the district and related upazila committees in these 7 districts will remain suspended until further instructions.
Which District Committees Were Suspended?
The following district committees have been suspended:

Barishal
This suspension also includes the sub-committees at the upazila level within these districts.

Mixed Reactions from Former Leaders in Chuadanga
After the announcement, several former leaders in Chuadanga expressed their personal reactions on social media.
Saffat-ul-Islam, the recently removed member secretary of Chuadanga district, wrote on Facebook:
“চুয়াডাঙ্গার আর কোনো অফিসিয়াল পরিচয় থাকল না। সাবেক হয়ে গেলাম, আলহামদুলিল্লাহ। যে দায়িত্ব আমার ওপর অর্পিত হয়েছিল, সেটি থেকে অফিশিয়ালি মুক্তি পেলাম। আমি চেষ্টা করেছি আমার জায়গা থেকে সর্বোচ্চটা দেওয়ার। ইনশাআল্লাহ, ভবিষ্যতে নতুন পরিচয়ে রাজপথে ফিরব। রাজপথই আমার পরিচয়, সবার কাছে দোয়ার দরখাস্ত রইল।”
“I no longer hold any official position in Chuadanga. I’m now a former leader, Alhamdulillah. I’ve officially been released from my responsibilities. I tried my best from my position. Inshallah, I will return to the streets with a new identity. The streets are my identity. I ask for everyone’s prayers.”
Another former convener, Aslam Hossain Orko, said:
“সব সময় মানুষের জন্য কাজ করতে চাই। আগামীতে সামাজিক কর্মকাণ্ডে যুক্ত থাকব। এ মুহূর্তে কোনো দলে যুক্ত হওয়ার ইচ্ছা নেই।”
“I always want to work for people. In the future, I will be involved in social activities. At the moment, I don’t wish to join any party.”
Background: Committees Were Formed in November 2024
The district committees of Baisommobirodhi Chatro Andolon were originally formed in November 2024. These committees were meant to work for six months. Their term ended in April 2025, but official cancellation was only announced recently.
Upazila Committees Also Suspended
According to sources from the organization, not only the district committees but also the upazila-level committees have been suspended for the same reason — expiry of their term.
