In a recent political gathering, senior BNP leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu unleashed a sharp and sarcastic verbal attack on Hasnat Abdullah a prominent leader of the Nationalist Citizens’ Party (NCP) escalating tensions between the opposition factions. The bold remarks, now widely shared on YouTube and social media platforms, have sparked renewed political controversy.
Dudu accused the NCP leader of making baseless criticisms and engaging in childish rhetoric. “Let me say it again like a fool, they’re talking like fools. They do politics using Awami League’s money. Even when your party was in politics, your father wouldn’t born,” he declared, reflecting his deep frustration.
This outburst came as a direct response to repeated criticisms from the NCP, a relatively new but vocal opposition party known for challenging the Awami League’s governance, particularly on economic management and electoral integrity. Shamsuzzaman Dudu dismissed the NCP’s efforts as immature and questioned their political legitimacy, emphasizing their historical lack of success.

The NCP has gained significant attention for its anti-establishment stance and active online presence, which has resonated with some segments of the electorate. However, Dudu’s remarks highlight the growing rift within the opposition as they navigate Bangladesh’s complex political landscape.
The incident is expected to fuel further debate and division among opposition parties ahead of upcoming elections. Political analysts note that such confrontations could impact opposition unity and voter perceptions in a highly competitive political environment.
