The International Crimes Tribunal’s verdict in the case related to crimes against humanity during the July–August 2024 mass uprising—against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun—will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television (BTV) on Monday.
According to the announcement, the verdict will also be shown at different important locations in Dhaka. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs will decide the final list of broadcast spots.
Security Strengthened Nationwide
Ahead of the verdict of Sheikh Hasina, the government has increased security measures in Dhaka and several other districts. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed to maintain order.

Background of the Tribunal Decision
On 13 November, a three-member bench of International Crimes Tribunal-1, headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mojumdar, fixed the date for the verdict. The other two judges were Justice Md Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Justice Md Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
Prosecution and Defence Arguments
In this much-discussed case, the prosecution has demanded the highest punishment—death penalty—for Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, based on five charges.
Meanwhile, the state-appointed defence lawyers argued that the accused are innocent and should be acquitted.
The defence team for former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has also requested his release.
