Md. Nahid Islam, the Advisor to the Interim Government for Information, Broadcasting, and Telecommunications, has said that Sheikh Hasina will return to Bangladesh to face trial and be hanged for her involvement in the July-August genocide, promising that she will be held accountable for her actions.
Nahid Islam made this statement on Monday afternoon after attending the funeral prayer of Shaheed Md. Arafat, a martyr of the July uprising, at the Shaheed Minar. He told reporters, “Those who think they can destabilize Bangladesh from abroad should be ready to face justice.”
Talking about the trials for the July-August genocide, Nahid Islam said, “The prosecution of those responsible for the genocide is the government’s top priority. We are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice in Bangladesh, and we will not back down. Justice will be done.”
He also added, “Through the trials for the July-August genocide and other cases of abductions and killings, we will establish justice in society, and as a nation, we will become stronger and united.”
