According to Demra Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudur Rahman, Nobel was arrested after he allegedly kept a young woman locked inside a house for seven months. During this time, he repeatedly raped and tortured her.
How Did the Police Find Out?
The police received a call through the national emergency helpline 999. After receiving the complaint, police immediately went to the location and rescued the woman from the house. Nobel was later arrested.
When and Where Was He Arrested?
Nobel was arrested on Monday night (May 19, 2025) from the Demra area in Dhaka. The news was first shared through a short message by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) media and public relations department. Later, Demra Police also confirmed the arrest.

What Happened to the Victim?
OC Mahmudur Rahman said that in November 2024, Nobel called the victim, a student of Eden College, to meet him in Gulshan. He promised to marry her. But instead of marrying her, he took her to a house in Demra and locked her there for seven months.
During this period:
- Nobel sexually assaulted and abused her multiple times.
- He recorded videos of the assaults on his mobile phone.
- He then blackmailed her using those videos.
How Was the Victim Rescued?
Recently, a video went viral on social media, showing Nobel dragging a woman down the stairs. The woman in the video was the same victim. Her parents, who live in Tangail, saw the video and rushed to Dhaka.
They found out about her situation and immediately called 999. Around 10 PM on Monday, police raided the house and rescued the victim. However, Nobel had already escaped from the scene.
How Was Nobel Caught?
Later that night, around 2 AM, using technology and tracking tools, police arrested Nobel from the Demra area. OC Rahman said that Nobel had plans to escape the country using a rented microbus. But he was caught before he could flee.
What Charges Has Nobel Been Accused Of?
The police have filed multiple charges against Nobel:
- Rape
- Abduction
- Physical and mental torture
- Blackmail
Recording and sharing inappropriate videos under the Pornography Act
The legal process is now underway, and police are continuing their investigation.
