Six unidentified bodies connected to the July uprising are currently preserved at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue. These bodies will be buried with full state honour on August 4, confirmed by government advisor Asif Mahmud.
July Uprising Victims Identified as Unclaimed
The Special Cell for the July Uprising confirmed that six unclaimed bodies at the Dhaka Medical College morgue are believed to be victims of the July mass movement. This conclusion came after internal investigation and verification.
“নিজেদের অনুসন্ধানে ঢাকা মেডিকেলে গণঅভ্যুত্থানে শহিদ অশনাক্ত ৬টি লাশ আছে বলে জানতে পারে জুলাই গণ-অভুত্থ্যান বিষয়ক বিশেষ সেল।”
Translation: “Through our own investigation, the Special Cell on the July Uprising discovered six unidentified bodies of martyrs at Dhaka Medical.”

Cause of Death Confirmed

Autopsy reports show five died due to physical trauma, while Enamul’s cause of death was due to a fall.
“ময়নাতদন্তে ৫ জনের মৃত্যুর কারণ হিসেবে লেখা হয়েছে ‘আঘাতজনিত’। একজনের (এনামুল) মৃত্যুর কারণ হিসেবে ‘ডিজিস্ট ওপর থেকে নিচে পড়ে মৃত্যু লেখা হয়েছে’।”
Translation: “The autopsy mentioned that five died from injury-related causes. Enamul’s death was recorded as a fall from top to bottom.”
DNA and Clothing Samples Preserved
DNA and clothing evidence from all six individuals have been collected and preserved at the Forensic Morgue of Dhaka Medical College. Authorities are still working to identify them.

In a confirmed statement, Advisor Asif Mahmud announced that these six bodies will be buried with state honours on August 4, 2025.
“ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজের মর্গে থাকা ৬টি লাশ আগামী ৪ আগষ্ট রাষ্ট্রীয় মর্যাদায় দাফন করা হবে ”
Translation: “The six bodies at Dhaka Medical College morgue will be buried with state honours on August 4.”
