Murder in the Name of Suicide
A shocking murder case was uncovered in Ramgarh municipality of Khagrachhari, where a son killed his own father and tried to make it look like a suicide.
“আপনার ব্যবসা এখন অনলাইনে— Storola-এর সাথে সহজ ও স্মার্টভাবে!”
The accused, Shubho Chandra Nath (19), hit his father Makhan Chandra Nath (54) on the head with the handle of a spade, causing his death on the spot.
The incident took place at their home in Gorjon Toli area during a quarrel on the night of July 13.
The Cover-Up: Suicide Drama
After killing his father, Shubho tried to hide the crime by tying a rope around the victim’s neck and hanging the body from a bamboo beam to make it appear as a suicide.
“সাধারণ ডিম বিক্রি করে আমরা কীভাবে ১৫ লক্ষ কাস্টমার এনেছি—এই বইয়ে আছে তার বাস্তব কাহিনি!”
He also threatened his mother to remain silent and forced her to file a false unnatural death (UD) case at the police station the next day.
Police said,
“ঘটনা ধামাচাপা দিতে সে গলায় রশি বেঁধে বাবার মরদেহ বাঁশের আড়ার সাথে ঝুলিয়ে রেখে আত্মহত্যা বলে প্রচার করে।”
Translation: To cover up the murder, he tied a rope around his father’s neck and hung the body from a bamboo beam, spreading the news as suicide.
Truth Revealed After Four Months
The truth came to light four months later when the police received the post-mortem report. The report mentioned that Makhan Chandra Nath died due to bleeding in the head, not by hanging.

Following this, the victim’s brother Rakhal Chandra Nath filed a formal complaint at Ramgarh Police Station on October 21. Acting on the complaint, police launched an operation and arrested Shubho.
Confession Before the Court
During police interrogation, Shubho confessed to the murder. Later, he also gave a confessional statement under Section 164 before Senior Judicial Magistrate Ariful Islam in Khagrachhari.
Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Moin Uddin of Ramgarh Police Station said,
“আসামি শুভ চন্দ্র নাথ বুধবার খাগড়াছড়ি সিনিয়র জুডিসিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট আরিফুল ইসলামের আদালতে হত্যার দায় স্বীকার করে ১৬৪ ধারায় স্বীকারোক্তিমূলক জবানবন্দি দিয়েছে।”
Translation: The accused, Shubho Chandra Nath, confessed to the murder before the Senior Judicial Magistrate, Ariful Islam, under Section 164.
Investigation Continues
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the murder and whether any other person was involved in helping Shubho cover up the crime.
