Sports Card and Allowance Program Launched

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will officially launch the sports card and allowance program on Monday. This initiative has been taken to ensure the honor and financial security of the country’s athletes. State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque announced this information at a press conference organized at the National Sports Council (NSC) on Saturday.

Aminul Haque said,

‘যারা জাতীয় ক্রীড়াবিদ হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছেন, দীর্ঘদিন ধরে বাংলাদেশকে জাতীয় পর্যায়ে প্রতিনিধিত্ব করছেন, তাদেরকে বেতন কাঠামোর আওতায় এনে ক্রীড়া ভাতা প্রদান করা হবে তাদেরকে সম্মানিত করতে ক্রীড়া কার্ড দেওয়া হবে।’
Translation: “Those who have established themselves as national athletes and have been representing Bangladesh at the national level for a long time will be provided with sports allowances under the salary structure. Sports cards will be given to honor them.”

Bringing national athletes under the salary structure

The State Minister said that sports allowances will be provided to those who have received various medals under the salary structure. Aminul Haque said about the ministry’s plans,

৪৯৫ উপজেলায় ক্রীড়া অফিসার নিয়োগ করা হবে। ঢাকার বিভিন্ন জায়গায় দখল হয়ে থাকা মাঠ উদ্ধারে যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয় পরিকল্পনা হাতে নিয়েছে মন্ত্রণালয়।
Translation: Sports officers will be appointed in 495 upazilas. The Ministry of Youth and Sports has taken up a plan to rescue occupied fields in various parts of Dhaka.
