A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed inside the campus of Milestone School and College in the Diabari area of Uttara on Monday afternoon. The pilot, Squadron Leader Towkir, was killed in the crash.
Aircraft Caught Fire After Takeoff
According to officials, the aircraft was a fighter-trainer model F-7 BGI that took off at around 1:06 PM. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft lost control and crashed, immediately catching fire.
Fire service units, along with members of the army and police, rushed to the site and began rescue operations. At least ten units from the fire department worked to bring the blaze under control.
Pilot Confirmed Dead
In a brief statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the death of Squadron Leader Towkir. However, it is still unclear if any other military personnel or civilians were injured in the incident.

Authorities on High Alert
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Uttara Division, Mahidul Islam, visited the crash site to assess the situation. It is expected that both the district administration and the Air Force authorities will soon form a joint investigation committee to determine the cause of the crash.
Public Safety and Investigations
The crash caused panic among students and residents in the surrounding area. The situation is now under control, and law enforcement agencies are securing the area as further investigations continue.
