The government has announced that Wednesday, July 16, will be observed as a day of state mourning in remembrance of July Martyrs Day.
According to a circular signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid on Tuesday, the national flag will be flown at half-mast on all government, semi-government, autonomous, and educational institutions, as well as on private buildings and at Bangladeshi missions abroad.

Special prayers will be offered at mosques across the country, seeking peace for the departed souls. Similar prayers and remembrance ceremonies will also take place in temples, churches, and other places of worship, as the nation comes together to honour the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
