On Monday, August 11, 2025, both Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges saw a fall in their main indexes along with a drop in overall trading volume. Nearly half of the traded companies lost share value, while only a small portion gained.
Positive Start Turns Negative in Dhaka Stock Market
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started the day with a positive trend. In the first 30 minutes, the main index rose by almost 39 points. However, as the day went on, fluctuations began, and by the end of trading, the DSEX index had dropped by 6.98 points, closing at 5,344 points.
Significant Decline in Trading Value
Along with the fall in the index, trading value also dropped sharply. Compared to the previous day, the DSE’s total transactions decreased by 149.77 crore taka, amounting to 610.86 crore taka today.

Chattogram Stock Exchange Also Faces Decline
The Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) also experienced a fall. Its overall index dropped by 10.79 points, closing at 15,025 points.
