At the DAB National Conference in Kakrail, Dhaka, on Saturday (9 August), Mirza Fakhrul said:
“তারেক রহমানই দেশের ভবিষ্যতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী।”
“Tareq Rahman is the future Prime Minister of the country.”
Importance of Doctors in Nation-Building
Calling the role of DAB “vital,” he told the audience:
“আপনাদের দায়িত্ব অনেক বড়। একদিকে মানুষের সেবা দিতে হয়, অন্যদিকে দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ গড়তে হবে। স্বাস্থ্য নীতি প্রণয়নে আপনাদের রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তিদের সহযোগিতা করতে হবে।”
“Your responsibility is very big. On one hand, you have to serve people, and on the other, you have to build the future of the country. In health policymaking, you must assist political leaders.”

Beyond Democracy – Ensuring Basic Rights
Mirza Fakhrul stressed that democracy alone is not enough:
“দেশে শুধু গণতান্ত্রিক ব্যবস্থা ও ভোটের অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠা করাই যথেষ্ট নয়, স্বাস্থ্য এবং বায়ু সহ সব ধরনের মৌলিক অধিকার নিশ্চিত করতেও কাজ করতে হবে।”
“It is not enough to only establish democracy and the right to vote in the country; we must also work to ensure all basic rights, including health and clean air.”
Problems in the Health System
Acknowledging the skill of Bangladeshi doctors, he said:
“দেশের চিকিৎসকরা উপমহাদেশের সেরা, কিন্তু সমস্যা সিস্টেমে। পারস্পরিক হিসেবরক্ষার যে সংস্কৃতি রয়েছে, তা আমাদের ধ্বংস করেছে।”
“Doctors in our country are among the best in the subcontinent, but the problem lies in the system. The culture of mutual account-keeping has destroyed us.”
Tareq Rahman’s 31-Point Plan
He highlighted that Tareq Rahman’s policy proposals could transform the nation:
“তারেক রহমান যে ৩১ দফা প্রস্তাব দিয়েছেন, তা দেশের স্বাস্থ্য খাতসহ অন্যান্য ক্ষেত্রে যুগান্তকারী পরিবর্তন আনার সক্ষমতা রাখে।”
“The 31 points proposed by Tareq Rahman have the potential to bring revolutionary changes in the country’s healthcare sector and other areas.”
Closing Remarks
Mirza Fakhrul concluded:
“শুধু ভোটের অধিকারই নয়, স্বাস্থ্যসহ সব মৌলিক অধিকার নিশ্চিত করাও আমাদের কর্তব্য।”
“It is our duty to ensure not only voting rights but also all basic rights, including health.”
