The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced that its Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is reportedly arriving in Bangladesh on Thursday, 25 December.

The update came after an urgent meeting of the party’s Standing Committee held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan. Tarique Rahman himself joined the meeting virtually.
The meeting, which started around 9:30 PM on Friday (12 December), was followed by a briefing from BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who confirmed the development to the media. Senior BNP leader Mirza Abbas and other committee members were also present during the session.
