Minister Indicates Support for Online Classes

Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has indicated that he may support the introduction of online classes in educational institutions to reduce energy consumption. He made the remarks on Wednesday (April 8) at a seminar on online classes held at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital.

Discussion on Energy Saving Measures

At the seminar, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj said several effective solutions have already been identified to save energy in schools. These include:

  • Reducing class hours to lower electricity use
  • Keeping windows open to use natural light instead of electric lights
  • Limiting the use of air conditioners in schools

Plan for Hybrid Learning System

The minister also announced plans to introduce a hybrid system a combination of online and offline classes in selected educational institutions on a trial basis. However, he clarified that even if online classes are introduced, teachers will still be required to conduct classes from school premises.
