In Fatikchhari, Chattogram, a 15-year-old boy named Rihan Uddin, also known as Mahin, was beaten to death by locals on suspicion of theft. Two other teenagers, Manik and Rahat, were also attacked and are now in critical condition. Police have arrested two suspects, while families of the victims claim the boys were innocent and demand justice.
A tragic incident took place in Kanchannagar Union, Fatikchhari, where a Teen Killed in a mob beating. The victim has been identified as Md. Rihan Uddin (Mahin), 15, son of Muhammad Lokman of Sagor Ali Talukder’s house.
How the Incident Happened
According to police, the event occurred early Friday morning at the Cheingar Bridge in Ward No. 5.
Fatikchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nur Ahmed said,
“Around 5–6 local boys were standing on the road near Sagor Talukder’s house. Locals suspected them of being thieves and chased them. Three of the boys took shelter on the roof of an under-construction building. Later, they were dragged down and beaten at Cheingar Bridge. Mahin died on the spot.”

Two Teenagers in Critical Condition
The other two boys, Manik and Rahat, were badly injured and are receiving treatment. Their condition is said to be very serious.
Police Action and Investigation
OC Nur Ahmed confirmed that police have already arrested two youths named Noman and Azad for their suspected involvement.
He added,
“The incident is under investigation.”
Families Deny Theft Allegation
The families of the injured boys strongly denied the theft claim. They said,
“Manik and Rahat had only gone to visit their relatives’ house. They were attacked brutally on false suspicion.”
They also demanded a fair investigation and exemplary punishment for those responsible.
