Tetulia records lowest temperature in the country

Tetulia, in Panchagarh, has been facing the coldest temperatures in the country for two consecutive days, with the entire region gripped by intense cold, with many of the local workers facing severe hardships in the freezing winter.

On Tuesday morning, at 9:00 AM, Tetulia recorded the lowest temperature in the country at 10.9°C. At this time, the humidity in the air was as high as 96%, and the wind speed ranged between 6 and 7 km/h. On Monday, the temperature had dropped to 9.8°C, which was also the lowest in the country. Since the previous evening, the cold intensity in this region—situated near the foothills of the Himalayas—has only increased. Throughout the night, a biting, chilly breeze blew, and thick fog settled over the area, adding to the discomfort.

Until last Saturday, a mild cold wave had persisted over Panchagarh for five days straight. During this period, Tetulia’s daytime temperatures fluctuated between 9.3°C and 9.5°C.
