Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Pallabi-Darussalam Zone Assistant Commissioner (ADC) Saleh Mohammad Zakaria has announced a strict stance against extortionists in Mirpur area.
In a post on his personal Facebook ID on Friday, July 11, ADC Zakaria said,
মিরপুর এলাকায় চাঁদাবাজদের ব্যাপারে যে নেতা তদবির করতে আসবেন তাকেসহ এরেস্ট (গ্রেপ্তার) করবো। সাবধান হয়ে যান নাহলে হাতে হাড়িকেন ধরিয়ে জাহান্নামের চৌরাস্তায় পাঠিয়ে দেয়া হবে। মাইনাস টলারেন্স।
Translation: I will arrest any leader who comes to lobby against extortionists in Mirpur area. Be careful or you will be sent to the crossroads of hell with a hurricane in your hand. Minus tolerance.
This bold and strong message of ADC Zakaria has received a huge response on social media. Many are applauding the courageous stance of the law enforcement agencies and expressing hope that through this, it will be possible to take effective steps to stop crimes like extortion in Mirpur and surrounding areas.
