Cox’s Bazar with its longest natural beach will generate enormous revenue this Eid-ul-Fitr holiday season. The businessmen are hopeful to gain revenue of about Tk 700 crores from gigantic groups of local tourists who are having a long holiday season as well as favorable weather.
Hotels and resorts are having high occupancy

Local Businesses Look to Benefit from Tourism Boom
The arrival of tourists is generating a huge amount of business for local traders, including food vendors, transport services, and entertainment centers. Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Abu Morshed Chowdhury puts the amount of revenues this season to Tk 750 to 800 crores involving 13 allied industries.
Enhanced Security Measures to Protect Tourists
Security has been enhanced by the authorities to provide tourists with a comfortable and secure tour. The authorities deployed more law enforcers to stop snatching and maintain road discipline. The authorities are also sending mobile courts with executive magistrates patrolling around to stop overpricing by hotels and rest houses and protect tourists from harassment.
Overcrowding and costs are issues
Amid this fervor, tourists are concerned about overcrowding and exorbitant prices in peak season. The recent Eid-ul-Fitr holiday brought half a million tourists to Cox’s Bazar and was followed by crowded beaches with exorbitant hotel prices. Better services and reasonable pricing are demanded by stakeholders to maintain Cox’s Bazar’s popularity as a destination.
