Tragic Accident on the Way to Tanguar Haor
A tourist bus carrying passengers from Dhaka to Tanguar Haor lost control and fell into a ditch early Friday (October 24). The accident took place near Pagla Bazar in Shantiganj upazila, along the Sylhet–Sunamganj highway.
Two Family Members Lose Their Lives
Two passengers from the same family were killed in the accident. The victims were identified as Monzura Akter and her daughter Ayesha Siddika, both residents of Dhaka.

Tour Turned into Tragedy
The victims were part of a group of officials from the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation Limited (BCIC), who were traveling with their families on a Sajuti Travels bus for a holiday trip to Sunamganj. Unfortunately, the bus lost control before reaching its destination and fell into a roadside ditch.

Quick Rescue by Authorities
Soon after the incident, Fire Service, Civil Defense, Shantiganj Police, and Highway Police teams rushed to the spot. They recovered the two bodies trapped under the bus and rescued several injured passengers.

Several Injured Receiving Treatment
At least ten people sustained injuries in the crash and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident, which might have been due to driver error, technical fault, or slippery road conditions.
