Senior Joint Convener of the Chattogram South District BNP, Ali Abbas, has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s current exile is divine justice, claiming she once evicted Begum Khaleda Zia from her own residence.

“Awami League practices politics of vengeance. Hasina forced our leader Khaleda Zia out of her home, and today, Allah has forced Hasina out of her country,” Ali Abbas said on Friday (October 31) while addressing a gathering at Bottole in Anwara upazila after visiting the shrine of Hazrat Shah Mohsen Auliya (R.A.).

The BNP leader made the remarks during a campaign to promote Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform agenda, emphasizing the party’s mission to restore democracy and people’s rights.

Ali Abbas added,

“BNP is the people’s party. We believe in democracy, and through people’s votes, BNP will return to parliament. Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform plan aims to rebuild the nation, and we are spreading it door to door.”

Several party leaders, including Advocate Fouzul Amin Chowdhury, Advocate Lokman, and leaders from Anwara-Karnaphuli BNP, were present at the event.

Ali Abbas’s statement reflects the BNP’s renewed confidence and campaign momentum under Tarique Rahman’s leadership. By invoking divine justice, Abbas aimed to contrast Sheikh Hasina’s political downfall with what he described as her earlier actions against Khaleda Zia.

As BNP intensifies its 31-point reform campaign, the party seeks to position itself as the true representative of people’s will and democratic restoration in Bangladesh.
