Erdogan Calls for Long-Lasting Peace in Gaza

During a speech in Istanbul, President Erdogan said his government is working hard to turn the recent truce into a lasting peace deal.

Turkey’s Role in the Ceasefire Deal

Turkey, along with Qatar and Egypt, acted as a mediator in last week’s ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.

Erdogan emphasized that Turkey’s main goal now is to ensure this deal becomes a foundation for permanent peace, not just a temporary halt in fighting.
