Erdogan Calls for Long-Lasting Peace in Gaza
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Gaza must heal its wounds and recover quickly. He indicated that Turkey is taking an active role in establishing “permanent peace” between Hamas and Israel.
During a speech in Istanbul, President Erdogan said his government is working hard to turn the recent truce into a lasting peace deal.
Erdogan also noted that Turkey remains cautious about Israel’s actions.

Turkey’s Role in the Ceasefire Deal
Turkey, along with Qatar and Egypt, acted as a mediator in last week’s ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.
Erdogan emphasized that Turkey’s main goal now is to ensure this deal becomes a foundation for permanent peace, not just a temporary halt in fighting.

Focus on Humanitarian Support
Erdogan believes the most urgent need for the people of war-torn Gaza is reconstruction and humanitarian aid. He called on the international community to join efforts to rebuild Gaza and establish lasting peace.
