Local police in Bauphal arrested two people who abducted a tenth-grade girl and harmed her while knocking out her guardians. Doctors transferred the victim to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital for medical tests and her ill parents received hospitalization at Upazila Health Complex.
The incident occurred during the late evening of Saturday (February 22) at 11 PM in Chandradwip Union. The Bauphal police executed arrests of two suspects after receiving the complaint.
The arresting authorities have detained two subjects named Bellal Hossain (25) and Faisal Ahmed (22). The criminal Bellal Hossain obtained bail release from prison last week to face charges for robbing businessman Shibananda Roy Banik and abducting him.
At eleven PM the assailants entered the house through the back door by applying an unknown substance on the victims’ faces which put them into an unconscious state according to family reports. The criminals used this moment of opportunity to drag the girl away from her house while assaulting her in a field close by. The criminals warned the victim not to reveal what they did after abducting her before disappearing. When the victim came back to the house weeping she caused others in her family to become aware of the situation. She managed to recognize Bellal and Faisal as the people responsible. The family members stayed unconscious during the entire night after which hospital staff transported them for treatment.
According to Arif Muhammad Shakur who serves as Patuakhali Assistant Superintendent of Police (Bauphal Circle) the police received information about assault during the incident. All family members currently suffer from illness and doctors are conducting necessary examinations. We will initiate legal proceedings according to the complaint submitted by the family. The police have arrested two individuals for investigation of the incident.
