UN Chief Guteres Arrives to Address Rohingya Crisis Joins Mass Iftar

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is arriving in Bangladesh on Thursday for a four-day visit. This will be his second visit to Dhaka in a decade regarding the Rohingya issue. During the trip, he will attend an Iftar gathering with hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees in honor of Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the Rohingya camp.

The Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary stated that UN Secretary-General António Guterres will arrive in Dhaka on Thursday for a four-day visit. As part of his visit, he will inspect the Rohingya camps. Due to a reduction in food aid for the Rohingyas, it is hoped that his visit will draw global attention to the Rohingya crisis. He further mentioned that extensive discussions on the Rohingya crisis will take place during this visit, and there could be significant progress in securing financial assistance for the Rohingyas.
