VIP Flights Disruption Ends: Big Relief for Passengers as Ban on 1-hour operation suspension lifted

Dr. Muhammad Yunus announced Ban on 1-hour operation suspension for VIP flights

The previous restriction to suspend all flight operations for nearly one hour at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport due to VIP flights has been lifted. Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus announced the decision, stating it was made to ease public suffering.

He shared this on Wednesday (June 18) at the “Chief Adviser’s Assembly” held in Shapla Hall of the Chief Adviser’s Office, marking the 39th founding anniversary of the Special Security Force (SSF).

Dr. Muhammad Yunus said that although the SSF must impose various limitations for security, those should not cause public inconvenience. “I have given clear instructions that the SSF must strive to avoid public suffering,” he added.

He further stated that the temporary suspension of flight operations for VIP flights used to last around one hour. “I have lifted this restriction. I hope this will bring relief to regular passengers,” he said.

In his speech, the Chief Adviser emphasized balancing public communication with security. He urged the SSF to maintain public engagement alongside ensuring safety, so they can carry out their responsibilities effectively.

Addressing the complexity of modern global security, Dr. Yunus noted that rapid technological advancement and instant information exchange are constantly changing the nature of threats. As a result, ensuring 100% security has become a significant challenge today.
