Do not vote for NCP if it lacks qualified leadership: Hasnat

Hasnat Abdullah the chief organizer of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) for the southern region, has said that Do not vote for NCP if it lacks qualified leadership. He made the statement on Tuesday afternoon during a street rally in the Chawkbazar area of Chattogram city.

Hasnat Abdullah said, “In the upcoming election, you should vote for qualified leadership. If you see that the NCP does not have qualified leaders, then there is no need for you to vote.” Emphasizing that voters should not cast their votes based solely on party symbols, he added, “Vote for the one who will serve everyone.”

The chief organizer for the southern region further said, “We need to become conscious. If we ourselves refrain from corruption, then our leaders can never turn corrupt. But if we sell our votes like before, then for the next five years we will be oppressed and tortured, and we won’t be able to speak out even once.”

He stressed the need for awareness starting from within families. “Our anti-corruption movement must begin at home. We must have the courage to ask whether our father’s income is transparent. If your father’s salary is 40,000 taka, but he pays 25,000 in rent and buys you an iPhone worth 150,000 taka and you can’t question where that money is coming from  then your education is not yet complete,” he said.

Present at the event were NCP Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr. Tasnim Zarah, Joint Member Secretary Mir Arshadul Haque, Joint Chief Organizers Dr. Mahmuda Alam Mitu and Md. Ataullah, and Central Organizer Arman Hossain, among others.
