Men Cannot Progress Without Women

Religious Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain said that men alone cannot move forward if women are left behind. He stressed that true progress requires taking mothers and sisters along. He said,

“নারীদের পেছনে রেখে আমরা পুরুষরা সামনে এগিয়ে যেতে পারবো না।”

Translation: “We men cannot move forward by leaving women behind.”

Speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Hifzul Qur’an Award’ program organized by Nibraas Madrasah at Shaheed Abu Sayeed Convention Center in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon, he shared these remarks.

Examples from Islamic History

Religious Adviser Dr. Khalid Hossain highlighted the role of women in Islamic history. He said the Prophet (SM) brought social change and guided the state with support from his wives and other women companions. Khalid Hossain said,

“রাসুল (সা.) হজরত আয়েশাকে, হজরত খাদিজাকে নিয়ে … সমাজ পরিবর্তন করেছেন, রাষ্ট্র পরিচালনা করেছেন।”

Translation: “The Prophet (SM) worked with Hazrat Ayesha, Hazrat Khadija, and other noble women to change society and guide the state.”

He said that even on the battlefield, Muslim women played significant roles, and institutions like Nibraas Madrasah can become milestones in building a welfare-oriented Islamic society.

Women’s Qur’an Education Can Transform Society

He emphasized the importance of providing Qur’an-based education to girls. According to him, if girls become Hafiza, Alema, Muhaddisa, or qualified scholars, they will contribute meaningfully to every sector of the country. He expressed,

“আমরা যদি আমাদের মা-বোনদের… হাফেজা-আলেমা-মুহাদ্দিসা বানাতে পারি; তাহলে তারা সমাজ, রাষ্ট্রে বড় ভূমিকা পালন করবেন।”

Translation: “If we can make our mothers and sisters Hafiza, Alema, or Muhaddisa, they will play major roles in society and the state.”

Call for Unity and Respect

Religious Adviser Dr. Khalid urged people to build a society free from discrimination and to respect one another.

He said differences of opinion will always exist, but the nation must ultimately unite under the Kalema Tayyiba.

Warning Against Losing National Opportunities

He added that the post–July Revolution government has opened a new opportunity for unity. Losing this chance could mean waiting many more years. He said, “If we lose this opportunity, we may have to wait another 54 years.”

Award Ceremony at Nibraas Madrasah

At the event, the Religious Adviser handed awards to 167 students. Before the ceremony, students performed Islamic songs, Qur’an recitation, and other cultural presentations.
