Ahead of the CUCSU and RUCSU elections, Central Students’ Union’s Liberation War and Democratic Affairs Secretary Fatima Tasnim Zuma shared a powerful note on Facebook for the candidates expected to win.
“কম খরচে কীভাবে আনবেন বড় রিটার্ন—শিখুন বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে”
In her post, she wrote —
“আজকে যারা চাকসু জিতবেন এবং কাল যারা রাকসু জিতবেন সবার জন্য ডিসক্লেইমার। জিতে যাওয়ার অনেক সমস্যা। জেতার পর আর বেয়াদবদের বেয়াদব বলতে পারবেন না, ম্যানারলেসদের ম্যানার চেনাতে পারবেন না, অসভ্যদের বেলায়ও নমনীয় হতে হবে। কারণ জেতার পর আপনি তাদের ও প্রতিনিধি। সবচেয়ে কঠিন হবে পলিটিক্যালি মূর্খদের মূর্খতাপূর্ণ সমালোচনা সহ্য করা। অল দ্য ভেরি বেস্ট টু অল। এসো বন্ধু, দেখো জিতার পর কেমন লাগে।”
Translation: “Disclaimer for those who will win CUCSU today and RUCSU tomorrow — winning brings many problems. After victory, you can no longer call out the rude for being rude, teach manners to the mannerless, or be harsh toward the uncivil. Because once you win, you represent them too. The hardest part will be tolerating politically foolish criticism. All the very best to everyone. Come, my friend, and see how it feels after winning.”
