Zubaida Rahman Flying from London to Dhaka
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s wife Zubaida Rahman is preparing to fly from London to Dhaka.
According to senior BNP sources, she is coming mainly to arrange the process of taking BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia abroad for better treatment.
After reaching Bangladesh, Zubaida Rahman will decide on travelling to London with Khaleda Zia depending on her physical condition.
Qatar Ready to Provide Air Ambulance
According to a report by BBC Bangla, Qatar has informed on Thursday that it is ready to provide an air ambulance to take Khaleda Zia abroad.
The interim government has also announced that special prayers will be held in all mosques across the country after Friday Juma prayers seeking her recovery.

Khaleda Zia’s Condition Still Critical
The BNP Chairperson’s Press Wing said on Wednesday that there has been no major change in her physical condition in the last 24 hours.
Doctors consider her condition “stable but critical”.
In this situation, UK specialist Dr. Richard Bill arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday and joined the medical board treating Khaleda Zia.
Medical Board Expands with Foreign Doctors
Khaleda Zia is under the supervision of a medical board made up of both local and foreign doctors.
The board is headed by Professor Dr. Shahabuddin Talukder, and one of the board members is Zubaida Rahman herself.
On Wednesday, two more expert teams from the United Kingdom and China joined the medical board.
Background of Khaleda Zia’s Health Crisis
On 23 November, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital in a critical condition due to severe infection in her lungs and heart.
She is currently being treated for:
- Kidney complications
- Heart disease
- Pneumonia
On 1 December, BNP announced that due to further deterioration, Khaleda Zia has been placed on ventilation support.
