The Bangladeshi government has changed the cost of the journey package for the 2025 Hajj in an effort to make the event more affordable. General Package-1 is now set at BDT 478,242, a significant reduction from BDT 579,000 in 2024. This package is designed to cover essential needs during the pilgrimage. General Package-2 is offered at BDT 575,680, also slightly lower than last year’s pricing. This package provides additional amenities and services for pilgrims seeking a more comfortable experience. Notably, the government has eliminated the previously available high-cost special package. Instead, travellers can choose from various accommodation options in Mecca and Medina, which will incur extra charges, allowing for greater flexibility based on individual preferences and budgets. A number of private operators are offering their own Hajj packages in addition to those offered by the government; these packages start at BDT 483,156. As a result, people have more options and can choose the bundle that best suits their requirements. The anticipated start date for Hajj is June 5, 2025, and the adjustments in pricing and package options reflect an effort to facilitate the pilgrimage experience for more individuals in Bangladesh.
