Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) has achieved a historic milestone as its team, “Pardon Us, Coming Through,” secured the 2nd runner-up position at the globally recognized Battle of Minds Global 2024 competition. The team, consisting of Md Nahian Hasan, Adeeba Rukaiya Hasan, and Ridah Tarannum Mehmood, first triumphed as national champions in the Bangladesh round, held on November 28 at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka. This victory marked BUP’s first-ever national win in the competition.
Organized by British American Tobacco (BAT), Battle of Minds challenges young innovators to solve real-world business problems. After their national victory, the team advanced to the global stage, competing with winners from 25 countries.
The team’s winning project, Jaco Natural Jackfruit Chips, introduced a sustainable, healthy snack made from jackfruit, featuring flavors like Classic Savoury, BBQ Delight, and Achari Twist. Judges praised the product for its innovation, potential to scale, and focus on sustainability, helping the team secure the 2nd runner-up position at the global event.
Reflecting on their global experience, the team expressed excitement and pride in representing Bangladesh on such a significant platform, marking a major achievement for BUP and showcasing the immense talent of Bangladesh’s youth.
